Beatles in 3000

Not sure everyone will find this as hilarious as I did. But if you know anything about the Beatles, I think you'll find this pretty funny. Snagged directly from AudioPorn Central.

News and Electric Music

Well, a couple interesting tidbits of news.

-Lupe Fiasco is dropping a mixtape on Thanksgiving day. It's going to better than [insert any other rapper to come out with a mixtape so far this year]'s most likely.

-Eminem is not releasing Relapse 2 this year, like we were told. He's releasing seven new tracks, but not a full CD. Relapse 2 will be out next year.

-Charles Hamilton has returned to the rap game. And no one cares (by no one, I mean me). His sampling is still pretty dirty, but his rap skills? Not so much. Check out his newest, "Charles Hamilton Is Back." I kinda dig the chorus, but with lyrics like "I'm still the big brother on the block/still a lover/and I'm still the color of a twat," I wish he would've handed his sampling job off to someone else.

-"Tik Tok" has been pretty close to played out already. Jay Sean and Jason Derulo are dead to me.

Let's just get to some music.

Hip hop lovers, this post's music is not for you.

Honestly, I've got nothing on this group. I'll have to do some research. But I've been jamming out to this song lately, so I thought I'd share. Dig the electronic sound of Ladytron. Shouts to Mallory Dorfman actually for the tipping me off to the song.

That dude looks like Ringo Starr in the 60's.

Ladytron - Seventeen (drop)

And while we're on the topic of alternative dance music, I'm gonna drop some Passion Pit tunes for you as a prerequisite to a more extensive post in the near future. Once again, a very electric sound, with vocals all over the place, but extremely well put together.

Passion Pit - Sleepyhead
Passion Pit - The Reeling

Expect more on Passion Pit soon.

B.o.B.

Another B.o.B. mixtape was released, and it's awesome. Grab the whole thing here, thanks illRoots. I pulled one track off of a whole mixtape of hits (some old, some new) for your listening pleasure.

B.o.B. - Across the World

Oh, and I also happened to stumble upon a video for No Man's Land, compliments of illRoots again.

Milkman

Honestly, I could feature a mash-up artists several times a month probably. What's happening out there is great. The mash-up style music is getting more and more popular, and the more popular something gets, the more competitive it gets. The more competitive it gets, the better quality of music is made. So this week's mash-up artist feature goes by the name of Milkman. After going through his website and pictures, it seems like he sets up shows the same way Girl Talk does, but with a little bit more complex of a set up. It looks like he rocks two laptops and a few MIDI controllers as well. Anyway, his music is quality, and it appears he's already blown up big time, at least locally. Check out the couple of his songs that I'm blogging, snag his first album for free, and consider buying his second album from his website (navigate with the tabs up top). These albums are really long and you won't be getting gipped for money, that's for sure. And plus, it's nice to hear a lot (A LOT) of unique samples, there's not many samples that have been played out by Girl Talk and others in these albums (honestly, when have you heard Atmosphere's "Sunshine" sampled?).

Here's a relatively simple track from his debut album "Lactose and THC", followed by a more complex track.

Milkman - Clap for Me
Milk Man - I Want You Back
(Like I said before, every good mash up artist/album features Jackson 5's I Want You Back)

And I'll leave you with two tracks off of Milkman's second album (not free), entitled "Circle of Fifths."

Milkman - Rap Music is Beneath Me
Milkman - Good Sex
(Yes, that's Mmmbop that you hear sampled)

The Hood Internet and Wale

The Hood Internet has released their fourth mixtape. I have yet to be disproven that these guys are the best creators of mash-ups out there. Every mashup is clean, flawless and original. So snag their fourth mixtape here!

And in order to celebrate Wale's first album drop (Attention Deficit), here's a Hood Internet remix of World Tour, which I believe I featured a while back.

Wale vs. Black Moth Super Rainbow - World Tour (The Hood Internet Remix)

I encourage you all to grab Wale's album and support his rise to the stardom. Check out just one of his songs from the album.

Straight Up Music

I can't even tell you how frustrating the internet situation here. Thanksgiving break will bring a fixed internet and a regular uploading of music and a regular schedule of blogging. Lots has happened in the music world since last time I posted. Here are just two highlights.

Chiddy Bang's mixtape, "Swelly Express," was released. Snag it here.

Mike Posner's mixtape, "One Foot Out the Door," was released. I featured a few of the songs below.
Mike Posner - One Foot Out the Door
Mike Posner - I Don't Trust Myself (John Mayer cover)

I love Posner's mixtape, and I'm still making my way through Chiddy Bang's.

Oh, and here's a random Best I Ever Had remix.

Short post, yeah, but I'm sure my internet is about to go out again.
