Immuzikation

This has been out for a good amount of time now, but I stumbled upon it while shuffling itunes and felt the immediate need to share it. So here I am. Sharing it. I obsessed over this one for a while, you might feel the need to do the same. It's not too hip hoppy, so sorry hip hop lovers. But it is, however, still all remixed Kanye, and the incorporation of a live performance of "Stronger" is nothing short of impressive.

Justice Feat. Daft Punk, Kanye West, Diplo, A-Trak - Fortisphere (Immuzikation Blend) (sharebee)

Get to know these guys, Immuzikation. Search em up on hypem, and look into their stuff. It's good shit.

United State of Pop 2008

Admit it. If I didn't have a caption, or mention anything about the title of this track, you'd have no idea who this dude was. Well DJ Earworm (pictured above!) is back with another United State of Pop.
DJ Earworm - United State of Pop 2008 (direct)

Meh. It's definitely impressive, but not that catchy or anything. I respect the work put into this piece of art. You're okay in my book Earworm.

Sooner or Later

I'm a big fan of the song, and the video's rather appropriate for the times.

My Life

Whipped one up for you.

DJ BK - My Life (DJ BK Mashup) (sharebee)

DJ BK

DJ BK's next mixtape, "A More Perfect Union," is under construction now. The difference between this mixtape and the previous? See for yourself.

DJ BK, A More Perfect Union - Track 02 (sharebee)

This track is a) not the final copy of the track and b) the only track that's going to be released before the whole mixtape is released; I'm not going to even be releasing the final cut of this track before the tape drops.

Enjoy.

Viva La Milli

Let me just say right off the bat how much I haaaate the song "A Milli." I mean, the verses aren't bad, it's just that awful beat.

But so yeah, it's gotta be a pretty damn good remix for me to be posting it. But alas, I have two remixes of the worst song in the world. But these are like, good. Check it out.

Lil' Wayne & Coldplay - Viva La Milli (Terry Urban Remix) (sharebee)

The Best of 2008

I'm not even done listening to this yet, but I can tell you that I'm thoroughly enjoying this. You'll dig it. Enjoy.

P.S. The mix at about 9:40 might sound familiar. Probably cause I did that mashup in Like a Virgin. It's not actually mine in this mix, but it's still cool that someone else thought it was a good mix.

I guess this still qualifies as music, right?

Like a Virgin

I'm pretty damn sick of sharebee. But whatever.

Ladies and gents, here it is:

DJ BK - Like a Virgin (1:01:18)

1) Girl Time is Over (sharebee) (2:09)
2) Revival (3:56)
3) It's Glamorous (4:50)
4) Party & Bullshit (3:58)
5) Say My Name (3:59)
6) Drop (3:01)
7) Remix a Remix (5:18)
8) Gettin' Tipsy (2:55)
9) Second Wind (4:12)
10) I'm Coming Home (4:02)
11) Feel the Noise (3:38)
12) Check It (4:33)
13) Like a Cop Car (4:26)
14) The Final Countdown (10:30)

To be honest, I didn't double check the links to make sure they were all right.

Well, months later, that's done. I'm not entirely satisfied with it, but I think you'll enjoy it. I think it's a great first mixtape. But, like a virgin, the next time will be much better. I've started my next mixtape already, and the quality of it is already significantly better.

My predicted differences between this mixtape and the next one...
-No more remixes created by other DJs
-Smoother transitions, not as choppy
-Catchier
-Sound quality. Thanks to the software in IU's music library, I can normalize sounds and have better control of the quality overall. You'll notice the difference. No more jumps in sound volumes or any of those shenanigans.
-If this is as good as I predict it will be and I keep up with the quality that this new one is already at, I'm selling it, probably like 5 bucks a CD. We'll see.

Enjoy. Feedback is much much much appreciated. Thanks for the support, you have no idea how much I appreciate you guys.

Shoutout to Jordan Hudis and Dan Liffman for always providing me with new ideas, songs, and samples. Love getting those random texts with random ass ideas on em.

Shoutout to all my friends at home for jammin' out to this and spreading the word.

B.I.G.

Saw this last week, but I haven't had much time to be on here posting and whatnot.

This trailer is pretty frickin sweet, with an awesome incorporation of Biggie's music into it. I don't know how good the movie will be, but they nailed the trailer for it.

Hey ooohhh

DJ BK's "Like a Virgin" mixtape will be released this Wednesday, instead of this Friday. Keep an eye out for it. I'll post the tracks via sharebee to download straight from here for those that can't get a CD.

Sorry for lack of posts lately and lack of effort. Finals week. You know how it is.

King of Rock

Oh shit. You guys are gonna love this one.

You need to download this ASAP. You will be jamming out for 1:18:59. Here's a little preview.

DJ Bling - Intro/Can't Stop Getting High (direct)

So after you're done obsessing over just the first track. You might (and by "might," I mean "will") want to download this whole mixtape.

Well here you go. CLICK ME!
40 Tracks, short, but put em together, and it's a beautiful thing. If you download it as 40 separate tracks, be sure to put them in order on your iTunes, the transitions are an art on its own.

Squeaky Clean

Yeah, I'm talking about Will Smith's raps. With lines like "I read in Rap Pages they refer to me as soft....Yeah....More like microsoft," how could you not enjoy Will Smith's raps?

So here's a relatively unknown cheesy Will Smith "rap" to get you through the day.

5:50 AM

Ha! That's funny that you're still up doing the same project too! Nice to see you again.
Tired? Need something to get the hormones going? I got your back once again.

I stumbled upon this one at The Tape, which by the way is becoming one of my favorite music blogs, mad props to the crew over there.

But yeah, here's your R-rated mashup for you crazy kids still doing your final project 2 months after you got it.

David Banner vs. Vanessa Carlton - Play/1000 Miles (Swine Forkbeard Mashup)

Or as google would say:

1000 miles = 1 609.344 kilometers

I don't know. it's 5:55 AM right now. Fuck. Go to sleep you idiots.

Monday, December 8, 2008

3:07 AM

So. It's obvious. You're in the same boat as I am. You haven't started your final project that was given to you a month and a half ago. And it's due tomorrow. Yet, you don't really plan on starting it until the day it's due. So in the meantime, you're looking to jam out to something. Maybe even stand up and dance a little. Something that's fun and upbeat. Hey, DJ BK has got your back.

Dance those precious minutes before the deadline away,

And hey, don't worry about that project. Ba da da da, ba du du du du du. La la la la.

Uffie

"Boys call me when they feel freaky hot..."

I have zero idea why I haven't posted this before. I'm fucking obsessed with this song, and it just started making a comeback on my iTunes rotation.

Done!

DJ BK's "Like a Virgin" mixtape is complete. It's 14 tracks and it's 1 hour, 1 minute, 7 seconds long.
Stay tuned for a snippet or two in the near future. December 19th release date, right around the corner.

Soon, my friends.

Autotune & Kanye

Two things you hear a lot together recently, but are completely unrelated in this post.

B.o.B delivers again.

I have no idea if this is an official video or not, but regardless. I dig this a lot. B.o.B. keepin' it real...

...sounds a loooot Lil' Wayne at about 1:04. Go figure.
...sounds a loooot like T-Pain at about 1:35. Go figure.

In other news, completely unrelated...

"Kanye West will take a break from music to focus on fashion, as an intern. Yes, thats right, Kanye is giving up music to become a fashion intern. The New York Times is reporting that Kanye offered his services free to Louis Vuitton and Raf Simmons. "I was blown away from the planet when he told me," Simons told Times. "I know he's very serious about this -- I don't take it as a joke -- but how can I imagine him being my intern? It's a very extreme situation."

Kanye hasn't officially said anything on this yet but he has talked about it in his blog saying "I want to and will be the real thing. I will not just be a 'celebrity designer." "

Found this article on the Rap Basement. Kanye as an intern? Ha.

Fun!

Don't even ask where I dug this one up, cause I don't even know. This song kinda reminds me of something that would be on Now! That's What I Call Music.

It's fun though! See for yourself!

Shifty - Slide Along Side (direct)

"She's daddy's little angel, but she wasn't last night."
-Shifty

P.S. The linking to the mp3s didn't seem to work exactly how I hoped, so it's a direct link, but I think it goes straight to download. I'm still working on it.

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

P.S.

P.S.
I found a website to host files as mp3s. So that means usually when you click the link I provide, it'll go straight to the song. It's definitely a better way to go about doing this, so now you can listen to the songs before you download them.

To download,

Click the link.
Click File (in the menu bar up top)>Save Page As.

or

Right click the link, click save link as.

This'll only work on direct links that go to straight to the mp3. Usually, the song will have "(direct)" after it, so you'll know if its a direct link. Expect most to be like that from here on out.

-DJ BK

The Prodigy

This is just straight up badass, fun, dancy, and genius. You'll be rocking out to this one pretty hard when no one else is in the room....

Asher Roth - Roth Boys

Akon, Asher Roth's new "label mate," hears and listens to Roth for the first time.

B.o.B. and Asher Roth

A rapper deemed to be in the "Hip Hop Class of '09," along with Asher Roth and Wale, is gonna be bringing something to the game for sure.

"His debut album "The Adventures of B.o.B" is expected to be released in 2009."

B.o.B. - I'll Be in the Sky (sharebee)
B.o.B. - Middle of the Day (sharebee)
B.o.B. - Left Field Lovely (sharebee)

And while we're on the topic of the Hip Hop Class of '09, here's everyone's recent favorite from an upcoming artist:
Asher Roth - I Love College (sharebee)
Asher Roth has been getting some legitimate attention and you can download his bits of his first mixtape, The Greenhouse Effect, here.

Here's a little excerpt from Asher's "About" section on his website:
To answer your questions, yes I'm skinny, yes I rapped 150 bars to Jay-Z in his office on the spot, yes I have porn on my computer, yes Scooter Braun found me rapping in my dorm room and signed me off of myspace, yes I throw keg parties every Sunday, and yes Steve Rifkind (Wu-tang, Akon, David Banner, Big Pun, Loud Records, SRC, etc. etc.) calls me the "best lyricist he has heard in the last 10 years." Thank you Steve, I'm not very good with compliments, but thank you that means alot big guy. Funny thing is I'm not even a rapper. See me.

Oh yeah, he's from PA too. Rep it.

On a side note: I'm trying to get away from using Sharebee and find something like zshare before it went absolutely retarded. I'd wanna listen to it too before I downloaded it. I'm working on it.

Shout out to DLiff for B.o.B.'s "I'll be in the Sky."

Halloween

Yeah, I know this is a good month or two late, but I coulda swore I posted this. Guess not. Here's a little mashup I whipped up around Halloween time. It's kinda simple and nothing too special to me, but it's still kinda neat. Enjoy if you'd like.

DJ BK - Hate or Love Halloween (sharebee)

I'll be back to regular posting after Thanksgiving break. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I did after watching the birds destroy Kurt Warner and the Cardinals.

808s

Alright, it's grown on me already. I dig most of Kanye's freshly released 808s and Heartbreak.

Here's a remix to an oldie for those still reminiscing. Wake up, Mr. West...

Kanye West Feat. Big Sean - Good Morning Remix (sharebee)

P.S. I think a while ago, I posted a song called "Anyway" that had leaked off 808s; it's actually called "Paranoid," featuring Mr. Hudson. Not that it matters anyway.

P.P.S. I'm not sure if the store bought album has the same thing, but I got the "exclusive edition" album off of iTunes and it's got a pretty awesome live version, both video and mp3, of "Pinocchio Story," as well as a digital booklet and the video for "Heartless."

Like a Virgin

DJ BK's "Like a Virgin" mixtape will be finished and released December 19th. Be on the look out. It's coming.

I'm pretty tempted to give some snippets from the second half of the mixtape, but I'mma hold off for now. Here's an oldie for you in the meantime:

More Kanye

Okay. I gotta say, I'm bored of posting 808s & Heartbreak tracks. Therefore, I'm not posting the latest few tracks that were leaked onto the internet and have lit up the music blog "industry."

Kanye West - Streetlights
Kanye West Feat. Lil' Wayne - See You in My Nightmares
Kanye West Feat. Young Jeezy - Amazing

Those are the latest three tracks to be released from Kanye's new album. But I'm not posting them. As of now, I'm done with posting music from 808s & Heartbreak. I'm sick of the album and it's not even out yet, and I don't want that happening.

These tracks are easily accessible online though, so you won't have a hard time finding the tracks. Enjoy em, and although you'll only be finding a few new tracks on the album if you buy it, I still encourage you to buy it. This album is going to be criticized. Hard. But don't listen to critics. Listen for yourself.

Toshiba

Alright, let me just straight up say that I jacked this from The Mix Tape Podcast, another great music blog, but I couldn't resist. This is just some kind of awesome.

Monday, November 10, 2008

Uh Oh

Google's tightening up big time and cracking down on all of their music bloggers. They've been periodically, and without warning, removing posts and music from blogs registered with them.

"We are in the process of removing from our servers the links that allegedly infringe upon the copyrights of others. If we did not do so, we would be subject to a claim of copyright infringement, regardless of its merits."

Just had my first one removed. We'll see what happens. Hang in there.

DJ BK

DJ BK's mixtape "Like a Virgin" will be dropping somewhat soon. I'm anticipating it to be done by December's winter break. It's getting there, and there's some hot shit on there. Anticipation....

In the mean time, here's a new mashup for you!

DJ BK - X Made You Look Again (sharebee)

Barack This Year...Q-Tip Next Election!

The Next Big Thing

Introducing...Kid Cudi.

I'm expecting this Cleveland rapper to gain Kanye West like status. This kid's going to be huge; it's just a matter of time when it hits mainstream. He is our near future. Right now, everything he's dishing out is straight fire. Although I've featured him a few times, he's worth getting his own entry. Kid Cudi. Remember the name.

And We Can Pop Bottles All Night...

First of all, Barack Obama is the new president of the United States; that's awesome. Props to anyone that voted, regardless of who you voted for.

I've got two awesome things to share with you today. One would be this video, it's pretty awesome, technology is ridiculous. This is 100% real for those of you haven't seen this.

The real treat I have for you has been on repeat on my itunes for about 24 hours. I can't get enough of it. Discotech absolutely tears this remix up. Bow in its greatness. Expect this to be in many, many sets I use when I DJ from here on out.

Discotech - Whatever You Like (DiscoTech Remix) (direct)

On a sidenote:
Here's another track off Kanye's new album. All this song deserves to be is this, a sidenote. It could grow on me though, who knows? "Coldest Winter" has already begun to grow on me a little.

....Good news though, Kid Cudi may have been put on the map by this one. I'm slightly in love with Kid Cudi. No homo. At least Kanye recognizes talent.

Kanye West Feat. Kid Cudi - Anyway

P.S. For those keeping track, that's 5 out of 11 tracks off of 808s & Heartbreak that have been released/leaked...so you'll only be hearing 6 new tracks of Kanye's when you buy this CD.

JT

Probably an inappropriate picture for a freshly released new track of JT. Eat your hearts out ladies.

Justin Timberlake recently released this new track off his next album, which may or may not be titled "Mr. Timberlake." Not much info on his album though, we'll see what surfaces in the future. Either way, I dig it.

Justin Timberlake - Magic (sharebee)

....Nice use of the synths JT.

Oh.
P.S. Lil' Wayne's not dead...Whatever. I'm over it.

November 4th

It's election week. Are you registered? Are you voting early? Are you filling out an absentee ballot? November 4th. That's in two days. Technically one day in a few minutes. You need to vote.

....besides. All these famous people want you to. Will Smith is in these videos. If that doesn't catch your attention, than I've got nothing.

Barack the vote.

Lil' Wayne Pronounced Dead...Maybe.

"
Dwayne Carter was pronounced dead at 02:36 Am, November 1st, shortly after arriving at Tulane University Hospital."

Could be rumors, but we'll see if it hits a more reputable news source. There have been plenty of hoaxes of the sort.

Shout out to DJKB for the insight and for the music recommendation above.

Make-up Post

Sorry for lack of posts! Halloween was busy as balls. Halloween, slutty dress up day, is an awesome holiday for dudes.

I've got some awesome tunes for you to make up for lack of updates. So, maybe we can still be friends. Any zshare I use from here on out will be straight to download, so you won't be able to listen to it first, until they get their shit straight.

Usher - Love in this Club (MSTRKRFT Remix) (direct)

Kanye West - The Stalker Song (Never Lettin' Go) (zshare)
Britney Spears - Womanizer (Teenagers Remix) (direct)
Kid Cudi - Down and Out (direct)
Metric - Monster Hospital (MSTRKRFT Remix) (direct)

And if you haven't heard or jammed out to Katy Perry's Hot N Cold yet, you're a whore. But here's the rock remix; nothing too different, but you'll hear the difference.

Some side notes:
-Michael Jackson has officially turned down a Jackson 5 reunion tour. Not cool.
-Lil' Wayne is an asshole.
-November 4th is election day. "You can vote however you like."

More to come. Much love.

Zshare

Zshare has gone retarded. I don't know exactly what's going on, but they've got some major work to do. Any posts that were posted as zshare links probably won't work. I'll try to post direct links or other download sites from here on out.

T-Pain...I mean Kanye

Kanye releases a few more.

The title of this blog might speak for itself. You can judge these ones.

Kanye West - Robocop (direct link)

Kanye West - What It Is (direct link)

Kanye's
808s & Heartbreak tracklisting:

1. “Welcome to Heartbreak”
2. “Heartless”

3. “Love Lockdown”
4. “Robocop”
5. “Anyway”
6. “Streetlights”
7. “Say You Will”
8. “Real Bad News”
9. “Amazing” (featuring Young Jeezy)
10. “Tell Everybody That You Know” (featuring Lil Wayne)
11. “Coldest Winter”

So apparently that second track didn't make the cut. Anticipation builds some more, be ready on November 25th for the new album.

KT

KT Tunstall knows what she's doing. This is an unbelievable cover of an already awesome song. This cover never ceases to amaze me.

...I'd still hit it.

Oh man, wait to you see how appropriate this mash up's name is. Anyway, when I heard Titus Jones' mix, it was too good to pass up. It's fun! Like, as fun as this picture! Besides, Britney Spears is totally hot again, if you haven't seen this video of "Womanizer", don't even attempt a debate.

Got a Minute?

Actually, got 70+?

The Hood Internet is a name you should be familiar with if you're not already. They create great sounding mash ups that are masterfully done in every way; but they are featured today not for any single mashup. Their newly released mixtape, which includes roughly 34 of their mashups, is a perfect blend of creativity to make another piece of art. It's a work of creativity made up of smaller creative works. Check out The Hood Internet's Mixtape Volume 3 (zshare) and head over to their website to listen to their other mixtapes and mashups.

Fightin' Phils

How 'bout them Phils?

For those of you who live under a rock, the Philadelphia Phillies are a baseball team. And every year, there's a whole league of baseball teams. They play a lot of games. And than if they win games, more than others in their division, they go to these things called the playoffs. So they play some more games, and if they win a lot of games, they go to this last series. It's like the biggest series in the season. It's like biggest series in the world. It's like a world series. Oh wait, it's the World Series, and the Phillies are in it.

Here's that old school 1976 Phillies Fever song, but with some snapshots from this season to get you reminiscing on the World Series Season.

Oh, and fuck the Rays. Do work Phils, do work.

Embrace Them

Martians are out there. We all know this. Anyone that knows anything knows that the movie Independence Day was actually live footage. They're out there.

Maybe we should take another approach to our new visitors, I mean, we can't all be as badass as Will Smith is. It's just impossible.

Maybe we should take the approach of Kid Cudi and Crookers.
Kid Cudi Feat. Crookers - Embrace the Martian(zshare).

But in other news, don't turn that stereo up too loud, and definitely don't point it upwards, unless you want to bring death to us all.

Mashed like Potatoes

Mash-up popularity seems to be skyrocketing, which I'm sure has a lot to do with the rise of Girl Talk, occasionally known as Greg Gillis. While no one may match Girl Talk's perfection and uniqueness, it hasn't stopped listeners from searching for more "mashed up" music. Well thanks to the guys over at mashuptown.com, you can have at least a gagillion at your disposal, and it seems like the website posts regularly, meaning new mashups everyday.

With mashups like this 80 minute piece of work by the deckbros, this website boasts a pretty wide variety of mashups, although I have yet to come across anything as intricate and as well put together as Girl Talk.

So where can you find music on the same level as Girl Talk? After much searching, I stumbled across an under-the-radar relatively unknown artist, Phoenix Jukebox, that has some real talent. Check out these tracks, and I encourage you to buy their CD, Grand Circus.

Stayin' Alive

Groundbreaking research on how the Bee Gees could save someone's life.
It's gotta be true. It's science.

"U.S. doctors have found the Bee Gees 1977 disco anthem "Stayin' Alive" provides an ideal beat to follow while performing chest compressions as part of CPR on a heart attack victim."

If you want to save someones life, 9 out of 10 doctors recommend downloading this and reading this.

Mo Money, Mo Cash, Mo Hoes

What do you get when you mix the hottest rapper in the game with broadway music?

Probably not what you were thinking. You might get a track like this one though. Team9's crazy concoction consists of some Jay-Z, mixed with a dash of Hard Fi, a wee bit of Abba, and a nice portion of Red Hot Chili Peppers to add that little spice we all like in our musical meal. Team9 brings all of these ingredients together to make a nice mix they like to call "The Money Song." Check out their site for some other recipes.

I'm a Bouncer at the BK Lounge

As Dane Cook once put it,

"The first job, when I was 17, was Burger King. I didn't
want to call it Burger King either cause like, you know?
So I used to call it the BK Lounge. If the girls were
like, "Where do you work?"
I was like, "I work down at the BK Lounge.
I'm a bouncer at the BK Lounge"
....Can we get in?"

Alright, what's up ladies and gents, this is the
beginning of hopefully what is a long career of music

blogging. There's just too much good music not being
noticed out there. This blog will vary greatly in terms
of musical genres. The music I post will be the under
appreciated, the remixed, the original, the music that's
just too good to be passed up on.

Unlike Burger King, expect variety here.
