I've been pretty swamped with doing nothing, so I'm just gonna post some straight music for you right now. I was at Vanderbilt all weekend, so the bad news was obviously no music for you guys. The good news however, is that I had an awesome weekend and saw both Girl Talk and Super Mash Bros. Shouts to Marissa and Rachel for getting us on lists and getting us tickets all weekend. Expect a review of GT and Super Mash next post. For now, check out this ish, accompanied by brief, almost pointless comments by me.
Bearbot - NYC
Bearbot is still doing her thing, even though we haven't heard from here in a while. Great, but short, mashup of Beastie Boys and Daft Punk.
White Panda - What You Know About Little Secrets (T.I. vs. Passion Pit)
What, you've never heard of White Panda? Yeah, me either. I'll look into him/her, but for now enjoy the mashup.
Chromeo - Night by Night
Chromeo's latest, I'm diggin' this one a lot.

Throw Some Paper Planes Over The Wonderwall Forever
Yeah. Mash-up names are usually pretty awful. But the actual mashup isn't, so that's always nice. Check out Dino Roc's DJ AM Tribute Mash. It's got "Forever" in it, which seems to be everyone's favorite song since it came out. It's been growing on me as well, for its lyrics at least. And if you know me, I'm sure it comes as no surprise when I say that I think Lil' Wayne's got the worst verse. My favorite line goes to Kanye. "You're such a fuckin' loser, he didn't even go to class, Bueller." Anyway, check out the recently released video for Forever, as well as Dino Roc's mashup.

I'm just stopping in between classes, but I'll throw you guys something that's been resurfacing again on my iTunes rotation lately. Some more chill rap, brought to us by Common Market.

Make Her Say
I'm still jammin' to Cudi's new album, so in honor of Cudi's new album, I'll post you a remix of another one of his radio jams that put him on the map (of freshman college girls and simple-minded-radio-listeners). So check out the remix and be ready to jam out to the song you were sick of until now.
Kid Cudi - Poke Her Face (Sammy Bananas Remix)
P.S. Had my first college gig last night and threw this on, to much appraisal from the crowd. Last night was fucking ridiculous.

DJ Hero
Stumbled upon this commercial for DJ Hero, a video game that's like guitar hero except you have a turntable and you "DJ." Kinda an interesting concept, kinda stupid but kinda cool, but whatever; I think a game like this has pretty huge significance that will be left to another post, if I ever get around to it. This post isn't about the game but it's actually about this sick preview that has a sweet mashup kind of thing with "Robot Rock" by Daft Punk and "We Will Rock You" by Queen. It's a kickass blend.
Man on the Moon - The End of Day
Happy thirsty Thursday everyone. Also known as the day before Friday or the day after Wednesday.
First of all, Cudi's new album (picture below) is dirty. It hasn't let me down and apparently hasn't let many people down all over the web; the album has been greeted with great appraisal in the blog world. There's no chance I'm going to feature more than one song, because I want you to buy the album. We've watched Cudi blow up from the beginning, those of you who have been with me and this blog from the beginning have known about Cudi months before he hit mainstream status. Now he's a common "household" name and the spotlight was on him for this new album. Did he cave in and make radio hits like "I Poke Her Face?" Nope. He opted to say 'fuck that' and delivered a pretty heartfelt album, along with a new direction of music, featuring the electronic sounds of those like Ratatat. As Common narrates the story told in Kid Cudi's album, we really get inside of Cudi's head, getting to see how he feels about stardom and about where he's going next. You really need to buy this album. Immediately. Here's just one of my favorites.

Tyga
I haven't posted anything about Lil' Waynes protege since I featured 'Lay You Down," but I stumbled across this piece of work and thought I'd share another jam by Tyga. And of course the image uploader is up to its usual shenanigans again and not working, so enjoy this bland post of a a pretty sweet beefed up Plain White T's song.

And if you don't have 'Lay You Down' by Tyga, get on that...idiot.

Hood Internet
I haven't blogged about these guys for a while, but they've still been making music. Their mashups are the most perfect I've ever heard, sorry toevery other mash up artist in the whole world. These two mashups are no exceptions.
The Hood Internet - Billie Wildcat Jean
(Michael Jackson vs. Ratatat)
The Hood Internet - Good Ol' Fashion Rump Shakin'

Bringin' It Back
We're bringing it back for one post cause this song has been on heavy rotation in my iTunes for some time now. A song you know and hopefully already have, but deserves this spotlight anyway, is Faith, brought to existence by our good friend George Michael.
George Michael - Faith
The video is a classic as well, but embedding of it has been disabled. Check it out here! We get some great face time with George, in color and blank and white. We also get some good close ups on a pair of hands snapping. Sick, right? Yeah, I think so too.

Empire State of Mind
Alright, something's up with the picture upload. I owe you guys way more than I'm about to leave you right now, especially since I'm sure you've heard this, but I've gotta run to class. So dig the sounds of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys on this track off of the Blueprint 3. Talk about a feel good song.
Alicia Keys kills it on this one.
Jay-Z Feat. Alicia Keys - Empire State of Mind
"I made a Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can."

Daylight
So, by now you already know the song 'Daylight' by Matt & Kim. It was on a bacardi commercial, and I've posted it before, so you should be familiar with it. Here's the mp3 if you still don't have it.
Well two Daylight updates. One is the video, which is pretty hilarious; these two look like they're having an awesome time, and it's just a funny video all together.
And we also have a De La Soul remix of the song, who sample the line "Cause in the daylight, I don't pick up my phone," which is an awesome line to sample, I just like the whole idea behind it. They also mess around with the instrumentals, adding some synth and making it sound much more electric. So enjoy this remix, and the rhymes of none other than De La Soul.

Pursuit of Happiness
Man, I feel like I've literally pulled all my latest music off of illRoots. Oh well. Kid Cudi dropped his 3rd single off the soon-to-be-released (9 days!!) album Man On The Moon: The End Of Day.

No Diggity, Cum Over People Like Me
Ha. What a title for this post.
I've got a few tracks for you, nothing brand new, but certainly worth knowing
Big Sean - Cum Over
This song's title is absurdly misleading. It's not just some dirty obnoxious rap song. It's just a somewhat-dirty really really chill song. Big Sean's whole mixtape, U Know Big Sean, is actually pretty dirty, cop it here. Highlights? "Hollywood," "Cum Over," "Desire, Want & Need," and "Million Dollars."
I'm gonna tack these two other tracks on here at the end, just because they fall under the same category of chill. K'naan's track is a really heartfelt track and can be pretty heavy if you're listening for it to be; while the other is simply a really good cover of the popular "No Diggity." Check em.

Jay and Cudi
Well, it's easier than ever to say that Cudi has hit it big time now. And sure, he's big and famous now, but just remember, we knew him before Day N Nite hit radio, before he blew up. Now that Cudi's in the spotlight though, I don't predict the quality of his music falters in the least bit. I think Jay-Z would agree with that, considering he gave Cudi the feature on this hot Kanye-produced track coming off of Blueprint 3. Chickety check it.
Jay-Z Feat. Kid Cudi - Already Home (drop)
Yes, it's true that most of Jay's album has leaked, but you should know me by now; I won't be posting more than a track or two from the album; I hate hate hate that full albums get leaked before the official release. I've given a lot of the CD a listen though, and it sounds like a hit or miss album to me. Some songs are unbelievable, and some are just ehh at best.
P.S. Finished track 6 of "A More Perfect Union;" it's getting there.

Chiddy Bang! Kind of.
Chiddy Bang's producer, Xaphoon Jones released his mixtape. I'm only a few tracks in but it's absolutely disgusting so far. I'm too anxious to share this to wait to listen all the way through first. So enjoy. I'll give it to you straight from the guys who Xaphoon gave it to, Pretty Much Amazing.
So here it is. (PMA link, download from here.) Enjoy.
