Superstar

Quick post to hold you over for the weekend, I'm leaving for Orlando soon, so there won't be any posts until Monday night at the very earliest.

This will satisfy you for now. Absolutely awesome mashup of Lupe and Radiohead. Enjoy this one, try not to put it on repeat for more than 15 times.

All of the Above

There are very few times when I'll post a T-Pain song. Very few times. I like to think that I'm posting a Maino song right now that just has T-Pain in it. You know Maino, for his biggest hit "Hi Hater," it's a pretty sweet song. Look into it if you don't know it. Check out Maino's latest.

If you don't know who Termanology is, I'm mad at you. Go google him or something.

Anyways, tight pants are for girls.

3 AM

Ha, this song's chorus describes over half of my friend's typical night. Ummm...Marc. Prosh. Steve. So many others. I love this.

"It's 2 o'clock in the morning
Drunk but i'm still drinking
Out on the dancefloor
Don't know none of the words to no song,
Singing...."

Check out this remix to a great jam called 3 AM by Thunderkatz.

Blänk

Remember Blänk? Sure you do, I featured them November of last year for their single "Shirt Off," and it was a favorite of mine for a long time and I still love it.

Well Blänk's got a new single out. My compliments to David Lindgren, "one of the owners of the small indie label grind records in Sweden," who emailed me with the heads up of this single and had some compliments on the blog. David hooked me up with Blänk's latest jam "The Pills." And also included in this email was a remix to the single by a "swedish electrohype" who goes by the named of Kocky.

Originally I had liked the remix better, but I'm really diggin the original now too. Check it out.

Wait Your Turn

From B.o.B.'s mixtape "Who The Fuck is B.o.B.?" comes a track that I've been repeating on iTunes for about forty five minutes.

Jazzy Jeff

Drexel decided to have its first homecoming party in 40 years. Who better than Jazzy Jeff to DJ it?

Don't underestimate Jazzy Jeff as a DJ. Philly represent.

If you haven't figured it out by now, B.o.B. is easily one of my favorite artists. Not a new song, but a new video.

Shake Ya Tambourine

I posted this in a mixtape, the Hood Internet's Mixtape Volume 2, I think, but I'm jamming to it right now and I'm really feeling it. Besides, I feel like none of you download whole mixtapes when I post em. So if this is up somewhere already, my bad. But if not, enjoy this track from one of my favorites, The Hood Internet.

Nice & Smooth

Smooth, chill, mellowed out rap is my favorite most of the time. This one's nice, and smooth. It's Nice & Smooth.

Bennihana

Kinda like the Tony Hawks move.

Anyways, Ben Lefkowitz aka "Bennihana," known for his crazy beat boxing antics, has decided to take a stab at rap. Using only a webcam and instrumentals, as the quality of sound will reveal, Benihanna's still got some creative and fun rhymes.

And while this is very informal, I'm going to give you the link to the facebook note that he has uploaded the links onto. If this doesn't work for you, hit me up and I'll get you the links to the tracks.

Cry For You (DJ BK Mash Up)

This is a real short one. Just something I whipped up in some down time. I'll probably put some effort into it sometime or another and make it a complete song, but I've got other stuff on my plate right now; so for now, enjoy these 2 minutes. I mean, I'd dance to this if it was played at a club.

We're Gonna Have a Party

This is the first thing that google returns in google images when you search for "huge party." Seems rather appropriate I suppose.

We're Gonna Have a Paaarty (Immuzikation GetTheFuckUpToniteBlend) (sharebee)

Sweet sample of California Love in here. Among many many other things. You might recognize some samples from Immuzikation, Ratatat, The Eagles, Nirvana, The Decemberists, Youngbloodz, Montell Jordan, Pharoahe Monch, Tupac, Kid Sister, Flosstradamus.

Rihanna - Disturbia (DJ BK Mashup)

This video's freaky as hell.

But this remix is awesome. So check it out. I couldn't help myself after hearing that Black Kids' track. Finally figured out how to prevent garageband from lowering the volume of the track when converting it to an mp3. So needless to say, you shouldn't have to bump this track at full volume to really hear it like you did with every other song.

If you feel the vibe

Throw your diamonds in the sky if you feel the vibe.

I feel the vibe in this remix. It's pretty fast. But hey, fast is good here. I jacked this one straight from the Heart Attack Club by the way.

Discotech

Discotech strikes again.

Taking the classics...

The Rolling Stones - Satisfaction (Discotech Remix) (zshare)

Awesome "instrumental break" at about 1:47 by the way.

And cashing in on the new...

Coldplay - Viva La Vida (Discotech Remix) (zshare)

Autotune

I'm gonna punch the next person in the eye that claims T-Pain was the first popular artist to use autotune, or that he made the first autotune song and brought it to attention.

Autotune is not T-Pain's invention or idea.

Cher - Believe

Daft Punk - One More Time

That sound, that autotune, seem familiar?
Cher's Believe...1998. That's eleven full years ago.
Daft Punk's One More Time...2000. That's nine full years ago.
T-Pain...born in 1985. Unless he hit mainstream with an autotune hit when he was 13...it's safe to say he didn't bring autotune to mainstream music.

Shuv It

Kinda like the Tony Hawks move, but spelled gangsterrr.

Anyways, thank me (and Three 6 Mafia, as well as the music blog The Mad Decent) for this one later.

Asher Roth

From the Rap Basement once again, little background from Asher himself. Just don't pay attention to who's conducting the interview...

An Interview with Asher Roth About Beginnings, Being Discovered and Rapping for Jay-Z

And later on the show...

...Asher's guitarist can shred.

DJ Lobsterdust

Besides this DJ looking like a complete toolbag in this picture, DJ Lobsterdust is really talented in making mashups and remixes. Here a few, but many more can be found on his website.

Good News!

Stumbled across this article at The Rap Basement:

"iTunes is already offering over 8 million songs DRM-free and by March it hopes to release another 2 million more, rounding out it's entire 10 million song catalog. "

Yeah, yeah, yeah. More importantly:

"Apple also says that it will have a new pricing system for iTunes coming in April. The new system will offer older songs for $0.69 (opposed to the current $0.99 price tag) but new songs will continue to be $0.99 plus new Billboard hits will actually be higher with a $1.29 bill."

Billboard hits are more expensive, new songs are no longer the lowest price, starting in April. Maybe people will start to do some music exploration, moving away from the top 40, to save some cash. Doubt iTunes has that much influence though. It's a step in the right direction perhaps? Whatever. I'm happy about it. 69 cents a song is sweet. Guess I'll have to pay a little extra for those Katy Perry jams, damn.

I'm sure apple news has a wee bit more extensive article if you care to read more. But you can go find that one on your own. I'm content with this.

Straight Hood (Internet)

Got another jam from The Hood Internet. I have yet to be let down by these guys, their remixes and mashups are flawless. Enjoy this one.

Something's up with the picture upload on the site. Don't let the bland appearance of a picture-less post dissuade you from downloading this.

Happy New Years!

New years goodies!

Cousin Cole, yes the Cousin Cole, remixed "Jizz in my Pants." It's frickin awesome.

Jizz in My Pants (Cousin Cole House Edit) (zshare)

Here's the original video for those who live under a rock. I don't think I'll ever be able to enjoy the original song the same way after this edit just shat on it.

Oh, and if you do live under that rock, you also don't know about Eminem's new album dropping soon. I'm pretty anxious to hear what Em's been up to, I think I have more anticipation for Eminem's "Relapse" than I had for Kanye's new album.

I mean, if every track is as good as this one, then Eminem is back. We missed you Em.

Eminem - Crack a Bottle (sharebee)

Lastly, I've got a wrap up of 2008 for you. Quite literally. Every year, Skillz wraps up the year in a nice rap for us. Well he's back again to look back on 2008 with us, highlighting the bests and worsts.

"Wayne sold a milli in a week, but in 7 days, I got sick of the A Milli beat."

(P.S. Here you go Marc! LMNT - Hey Juliet. If you haven't heard this, then you must have downs syndrome. Download it asap if you're that dumb.)
