I'm Back

Man, I owe you guys big time. I've been slacking since I've been home. So let's play catch up!

Personal News:
-I went to the Girl Talk and Lupe Fiasco concert at Drexel University last Saturday. Here are a few pictures.
Yup, that's Greg Gillis. And yup, that's us.

Yup, that's Greg Gillis. And yup, that's me dancing on stage with him and 7500 girls.

Yup, that's Lupe.

This concert was unreal. Girl Talk did his thing, mashing popular samples over an eclectic mix of instrumentals. Honestly, the whole thing was a blur, my lifelong dream of dancing on stage with Girl Talk was fulfilled and it comes as no surprise that I found every mix to be flawless and unbelievable, even though I'm sure they were not. I'm too biased on this one to give an accurate description or analysis. I have never been so sweaty in my entire life, and sure enough, when the Jackson 5 instrumental hit, I joined Girl Talk as another shirtless maniac on stage.

Lupe was surprising to me. I saw him when he came to IU, and he rocked shit then, just as he rocked shit at Drexel. What surprised me was his opening song(s). He began with "The Instrumental" and continued on through a few other not-that-known music, not the way I thought he would go to capture an audience. Yeah they're awesome tracks, but how many Lupe fans there actually know all of his music? I'd hope to say all of them, but I'm more realistic than that. Lupe's stage presence and energy is unmatched by any performing artist I've seen in my life, and the audience becomes sucks in from the start; the atmosphere is ecstatic. He's a great performer, lyricist, and rapper. He previewed a new track from his upcoming (and last) album, LupE.N.D., that featured Matthew Santos (or so it seems), and it sounded ridiculous. I have high expectations.

-I'm going to see Atmosphere this Friday, so I'll let you know how that goes. Chiddy Bang at some point this summer too!

-I'm about 6 tracks into A More Perfect Union, but won't be able to work on it this summer. Hang in there.

Moving on from personal experience to some news in the music world:

-The bodyguard, named Alfamega, that ratted T.I. out was kicked out of Grand Hustle (T.I.'s label) and was arrested after running from the cops after taking pepper spray to the face. I consider that good news. Fuck you Alfamega.

-Eminem's whole album has leaked. Fuck that. Don't expect any more from his album on this blog. He'll appear on Family Guy this Sunday though!

-Still, nobody cares about the beef between 50 cent and Rick Ross.

And now, finally, some music!

Asher Roth Feat. Slick Rick - Y.O.U.

Mr. Hudson Feat. Kanye West - Supernova

Lenlow - Get Eastwood
Sean Paul vs. Gorillaz

DJ 0.000001 - We All Fall Down

Fatboy Slim - Praise You

Asher Roth - Boom Boom Pow Remix

and the video from the studio:

Pantless Knights - Puke in My Mouth

I know, a random mix of rap, not rap, remixes, originals, new, old, etc. It's just what I've been listening to lately and I owe you guys some good music that you may not know yet. I may feature Lenlow or one of these others another time, but enjoy these for now.

P.S. I got an email from David Lingren, from Blänk's record label (Grind Records), with a new track and video, so I'll probably post that up and comment on that tomorrow. I still rock to their jam "Shirt Off" all the time.
