Sharam and Cudi

Don't have much time to elaborate on this, I'm kinda on my way out. But check out this Cudi joint with Sharam (pictured).

Beam Me Up

"Cause my Chevy sits so high, from the floor, I feel like I'm an alien in a UFO"

This is a lyrically cliche song, with a crazy, unheard of idea of sticking T-Pain on the hook. Why post it? Well, I actually kinda like the song. And...Tay Dizm. You've probably never heard of him. He's a rapper out of Miami, and this is a pretty awesome debut for him, although according to wiki, it was released last August. I think T-Pain will probably be promoting Dizm, since he is one of the first artists to sign onto T-Pain's Nappy Boy Entertainment label. So. You heard him here first. I can't wait to hear people trying to imitate the sound in the chorus.

Fall Out Boy Featuring Awesome People

I wish I had more info about this track, but I don't have much really. You know Fall Out Boy's song "America's Suiteheart," right?

....Yeah, me neither. But thanks to Joe Budden, 88-Keys and Murs, and a completely new beat, this song is more than a listenable song. And when the Fall Out Boy chorus hits, it actually complements the rap verses nicely. Hats off to this remix all around.

Big Screen

GLC and Kanye have made a video for a new release, "Big Screen" off of GLC's album "Welcome to Haterville." It's a smooth sounding song with a chorus that reminds me a little bit of Flashing Lights. You may recognize GLC from Kanye's "Spaceship" on College Dropout. These guys make a good team.

P.S. I think this Drop.io form of sharing is a pretty good one. You can listen to it before you download it, there are less ads, and no 60 second wait to download.

News and Music

Today, T.I. was been sentenced with a year and 1 day of jail time for a weapons charge in October 2007. He's got six to eight weeks to report to prison, and although he has a 366-day sentence, T.I. can get out in 298 days with good behavior, which I'm fully expecting to happen. T.I. is a pretty stand up guy and an outstanding musician, it's a bummer he's going to be taken out of the game for a year, but I'm sure the releases of new music will, in Tupac-fashion, keep coming even when T.I. is not around.

Anyways, a few remixes for you, all bumped from White Folks Get Crunk actually.

I think you'll enjoy "I rather get some head" over AC/DC

The Sampler

This may or may not be Track 1 from my next mixtape, "A More Perfect Union." I'm not too set on this, and there are some parts I'm considering changing, so let's call it a rough copy. We'll see. I'd appreciate some feedback on what works and what doesn't work on this track. I made a track 1 to this mixtape already, but I'm thinking this may replace it. If I decide to replace my old track 1, I'll post that too for you guys since I'll be throwing it out anyway. You should have a feel for the quality of this mixtape from this track, as well as track 2, which I released a while back. Once again, feedback please.

DJ BK - The Sampler (Rough Copy, Track 1) (sharebee)

So possibly a rough copy of track 1, possibly titled "The Sampler" and a rough copy of track 2, titled "Get Silly," are what have been released so far. You should notice the significant upgrade in quality in these tracks compared to anything on Like a Virgin.

Apparently I can't tag all of these artists as a label on the blog, but I usually tag the artist(s) I post. So thanks to samples of the Beastie Boys, Akon, Trillville, Oasis, Three 6 Mafia, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Jay-Z, M.I.A., Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Will.I.Am, T-Pain, 50 Cent, Kanye West, Lil' Wayne, Bobby Valentino, V.I.C., Shawty Lo, Dream, T.I., Bon Jovi, DJ Unk.

Basically, this is 23 songs (if I remember correctly), sampled very shortly. Like an appetizer sampler, it's a little bit of everything.

A Resurface of the Past

Lately, I couldn't help but notice the sudden spike of samples and rhythms resurfacing in hip hop today. I mean, it's a smart idea. If a song was successful once in the past, why not bring it back? Anyway, enjoy your old favorites, the second time around, reborn into hip hop.

Flo Rida feat. Katy Perry - Right Round (sharebee)

Dead or Alive - You Spin Me Right Round (Like a Record)

Slim Thug - I Run (sharebee)
A Flock Of Seagulls - I Ran

Flo Rida - Magic (sharebee)
Pilot - Magic

Flo Rida Feat. Wynter - Sugar
Eiffel 65 - I'm Blue

Flo Rida is onto something. His next album "R.O.O.T.S." drops in April, but expect to see a lot of top 40 radio jams from it. Learn it now, and see what it's like when the whole world finds about it a month or two later and you haveta hear it everywhere you go....my favorite <3. I'm sure you've heard Right Round, it's been around for what already seems like forever. Enjoy those that you don't know yet though; they're all good, radio friendly, fun songs. Maybe Slim Thug isn't that radio friendly actually, but it's still a good one.

And a few more, tacked on as an after thought.

Wale Feat. Lady Gaga - Chillin' (featured a few posts ago)
Steam - Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye

B.o.B - All The Lonely People (sharebee)

The Beatles - Eleanor Rigby

B.o.B - Don't Break My Heart (sharebee)

The Temptations - Build Me Up Buttercup

A Remix Manifesto

Just found the scoop on Remix Manifesto on AudioPorn Central.

"RiP: A remix manifesto is a documentary film about copyright and remix culture web activist and filmmaker by Brett Gaylor. At a time when file-sharing, remixing and open-source have become the new buzz words, Gaylor and Girl Talk help untangle the complex issues of copyright and present an alternative approach towards ownership and intellectual property. Creative Commons founder Lawrence Lessig, Brazil’s former Minister of Culture Gilberto Gil and pop culture critic Cory Doctorow (Boing Boing) are also featured in the film. And if you pay attention, you might also spot a few surprise guest appearances… Probably the best thing what you can watch tonite or at the weekend! Make sure to watch the whole movie HERE."

Check it out, it's incredibly interesting.

An Inspirational Video

An inspirational video I jacked from Mashuptown.

Not entirely sure what the "Remix Manifesto" is referring to, but I'm gonna be keeping an eye out for it/him/her.
